Heather grew up in Ankeny. She has two beautiful children: Miles 7 and Taylor 6. They are 10 months apart in age and they keep me very busy! But they are my joy in life!
Heather grew up right here in Ankeny, Iowa!
Heather says the most important job she has is that of MOM. Other than that she is an administrative assistant at Henning Construction.
Heather has done many jobs....Retail sales Helzberg Diamonds, Customer service manager Homemakers Furniture, Men’s Dept. manager Maurices, Fragrance manager Victoria’s Secret…. A lot of retail.
When asked what the craziest thing she's ever done…that you she was willing to share...she said that she posed for Playboy.
Heather says she's blocked all of those "most embarrassing moments" from her memory! But she did add to ask Nocona, she probably has plenty of stories she could embarrass me all over again with.
Heather celebrates her birthday each year on October 19th. She says the older she gets the less she does to celebrate…it's usually a pretty quiet day: dinner and cake with my kids and my parents.
When asked if she could go back in time, what one thing would she change, Heather responds: Oh I may regret a few things I have done or decisions I have made, but I wouldn’t change a single one because they have shaped the person I am and brought me to where I am today.
Heather's most amazing moment in her life has been giving birth to her kids. Immediately after Miles was born she thought “I wanna do that again”. Not that LABOR was any fun, but she loves being a mom, and it is such a blessing. So she guesses the lesson in that is be careful what you wish for….6 weeks after Miles was born she was pregnant with Taylor!

Heather heard about BT from her best friend Nocona Dayton, who read about it in the newspaper. The two of them came together to their first meeting...not our local chapter, but the event at the Sheraton on University for the meeting when the founders were in town. Both Heather and Nacona immediately thought it was FABULOUS and FUN! They sat at a table with Susan, our co-director, and the rest is history!
The best thing Heather has participated in for BT so far is the Candeo Halloween Party last year. She wasn’t available to participate this year, which just breaks her heart (side note..she was celebrating her birthday with her kids...but was so kind to bring treats by anyway!). It is so rewarding to be a part of something that gives so much joy to others!
When asked what she is looking forward to in BT, Heather says continuing to fight frump and supporting charities in our community.
Heather's favorite quote is “Too much of a good thing is WONDERFUL!” (Mae West).
Heather's words of wisdom she would like to give to other women fighting frump....When in doubt, BUY the shoes and never take a knife to a gun fight!!!
A thong to Heather is….the anti-granny panty and an essential part of any frump fighting woman’s wardrobe!
