Fellow Blue Thong Beauties: Get ready for a thrilling discussion on - - - drum-roll - - Wills and End-of-Life Directives. WOW!
That’s our BTB agenda for Monday, Feb. 1 at 6:30 pm at Benchwarmers.
A couple of BTBers asked me some questions about wills and as a result I volunteered to give a basic talk about these topics. These topics aren’t very exciting – not even close to Jon Paul – but important considerations for us all.
Here is what I plan to talk about:
1. Wills – How do I know if I need a will?
2. Wills vs. Living Trusts
3. Probate – what is it and when is it necessary.
4. Living Wills
5. Power of Attorneys and Durable Power of Attorneys

This will be a very basic talk. I currently don’t practice law because I teach full-time so I won’t draft wills/trusts for you and my comments should not be interpreted to answer your personal issues or a substitute for seeking advice from your personal attorney. However, sometimes half the battle is understanding the concepts so that you can have a more meaningful discussion with your own attorney.
If you would like me to cover additional topics, please send me an email as soon as you can. sjmitchell@dmacc.edu
See you on Feb. 1 at 6:00 pm to order dinner and 6:30 pm to start the agenda. We will start right on time. . . promise!
