GET TO KNOW...LISA NASALROAD

When asked about her family Lisa says "I'm married to the most amazing man, Ethan, and I have two beautiful daughters, Kayla (17) and Delaney (9). I have an older brother, David and an older sister, Beth. My parents live in Marshalltown and both siblings live in Iowa with their families. I have quite a few nieces and nephews. I also have the most amazing in-laws that anyone could hope for! The most amazing moments in Lisa's life have been marrying Ethan and the birth of her two daughters. (Side note...Ethan may look a little familiar...he's the pilot that took some of us up in a plane at the Newton Airport last year!)

Lisa grew up mostly in Gladbrook, Iowa (aka Happy Creek), but she did live in Casper, Wyoming for three years while in elementary school. (Side note: Lisa will not ever "grow up", it's too dull!)

Lisa is currently the Accounts Manager at Johnson Aviation (Newton Airport). She gets to work with her husband, Ethan. He's a pilot and the co-owner of the Newton and Marshalltown FBO's (Fixed Based Operators). When she met Ethan he was a flight instructor at Marshalltown and she was a legal secretary. Now he has an office right behind hers and gets to stare at the back of her head every day. (Side note: The FBO in other words is the aviation services company based at the airport.)

Lisa has done a lot of other jobs also....a waitress when she was in high school, Nurses Aid/Home Caregiver for a quadriplegic on a ventilator and also worked with Alzheimer's patients for five years in Milwaukee. She hurt her back as a CNA so she had to switch jobs and became a legal secretary. (Side note: for someone with a hurt back she sure does wear very high high heels!)

One of my favorite questions is always "What's the craziest thing you've ever done, that you are willing to share"...and Lisa starts off by saying "personally I think there are different levels of crazy! She said something "stupid crazy" she did was join a traveling sales crew when she was 19. They sold concentrated cleaner door-to-door. They went all the way to California via caravan. After three months she decided they weren't the group for her. She also said she learned a lot about people and diversity. (Side note: She also said she learned how many people answer the door in their underwear!)

Another favorite question is "what's your most embarrassing moment"...usually it's good for some added conversation later and Lisa's response is no different....she starts out by saying it takes A LOT to embarrass her, but when she does get embarrassed it is usually involves "open mouth, insert foot." She continues to say that one night really stands out to her. She was visiting her sister and her sister's friend was there also. They were sitting around the kitchen table just talking. They got on the subject of people losing teeth in bar fights and how she couldn't understand why someone would walk around with missing teeth and not try to get them fixed. (right now, envision the foot in the mouth) Lisa then looked at her sister's friend and that person, with her finger in her mouth said "Well, I've lost a couple but I didn't think it was that obvious." Lisa says "I'll be damned, she was missing her front tooth!" (Side note: if Lisa seems to be staring at your mouth when she is talking to you, you'll know what she is doing!)

Lisa celebrates her birthday every December 17th. Usually they celebrate with Ethan's family because his birthday is just a few days later on the 21st, so they celebrate all together. (Side note: this year Lisa celebrates a big birthday!....which leads me into Lisa's words of advice....you are only as old as you feel! Dress appropriate;y for your body type and age, but don't be afraid to try something new!)

Lisa came to a Blue Thong meeting with Heather Malizia and has been hooked ever since. Lisa said it's such a "comfortable group".....she even bought a bra out of some one's trunk at that meeting, now that's comfort. (Side note: We had a bra specialist speak at that meeting!)
Lisa absolutely loves the Halloween party we do each year. But about even for that is participating this year in the Adopt a Family at Christmas. (Side note: Lisa is very believable as a "devil" at the costume party.)
Lisa is looking forward to more of the work we do with local non-profit organizations....and getting to know everyone more...she says "there are SO many fun personalities in this group!" (Side note: Lisa has quite a fun personality also.)

If Lisa could go back in time and change one thing it is that she would go to college. Even though her parents couldn't afford it, she would have tried harder to find a way. (Side note: you are one smart cookie already!)

Lisa's favorite quote is "I complained about my feet hurting until I saw a man with no feet."

A thong to Lisa...well, as a child it was a flip flop, but now it's underwear!

Side note: No idea why I added a side note throughout this "get to know" but you should know Lisa...she's so much fun!
