CHANGING OF THE THONG!

WOW, it's been 3 1/2 years since Sherry and Susan started our BT Chapter. We've experienced many wonderful things happen over the years! Remember...80 women on the first night, the wine & cheese party for Candeo (our first charitable effort!), the annual Halloween Party, Big Brother's Big Sister's Bowl-a-thon, the gazebo for Hope Ministries, the Hy-Vee Fishing Derby, making fleece blankets, Adopt-a-Family, Nostalgia night (oh Jean-Paul!)...wow, the list could go on and on and on!!!! Look at how we are making an impact on our community. Hopefully you have felt an impact in your life as well from participating!

Sherry and Susan have done a great job bringing us together. We've emerged a strong group of women that want to FIGHT FRUMP! Their lives have become quite busy with teenage daughters and grand babies (as well as many other things in life) and have asked to "change their thong status" from co-directors to members. With that, Peggy Hoemann has agreed to step into the "big thong" (you know, like having "big shoes to fill") and become our Director. Peggy has some great ideas to take our group to the next level. Come to the meeting in September (TBA....watch the blog for an update soon!) to hear Peggy's vision for 2011, as well as discuss our activities for the upcoming year.

In preparation for the meeting, Peggy is asking that you begin to think about activities we can do in 2011 to be philanthropic (Webster says this is an activity performed with the goal of promoting the well-being of fellow man) as well as things we can do to enhance our lives (a few examples from the past: self defense class and the talk in August on "Making a Great First Impression"). Peggy would like your input into ideas for 2011 and asks that you send them to her at hoemann60@aol.com. Of course your input is welcome anytime, but to help her get started and see what thoughts you have, please have your immediate ideas to her by September 10, 2010.

Thank you Sherry and Susan for all the work you've put in to getting us to the great place we are today, and welcome Peggy as our new Director!
