Hey, Ankeny BT Beauties
Do we have a fun-filled meeting planned for you!
For the 'professional dessert-decorator wanna-be,'
we will provide you with the chance to demonstrate
your mad skills--or to experiment, to pick up some
tips and new techniques, and (of course) to do a
little sampling (quality-control testing...).
We'll have a game/contest or two; you'll be able to take
some goodies home, unless your sweet tooth gets the better of you...
Fight frumpy decorating! Become the frosting queen!!
Deanna Rubis' mother is letting us take over her cafe--very
graciously!-- so we have plenty of room for all that
creativity to express itself.
Details:
Date: Monday, April 5th
Time: 6:00 p.m. -- Please plan to arrive at 6:00 or shortly after.
Place: Town and Country Cafe in Madrid, Iowa
(a short 30-minute drive from Ankeny--directions below)
Meal: Though the cafe is not open for dinner--which is why we can meet there and have the place to ourselves!--we can order lasagna dinners, with tossed salad and garlic bread. Yum!
Cost: $5.62 with tax (drink is extra: choose from pop, iced tea, or lemonade; we'll probably brew
some coffee to go with the desserts, also)
Desserts: We will provide the supplies. You bring your inner 'Cake Boss' (or 'Ace of Cakes')--and
prepare to have fun!
Car-pooling: We suggest that anyone who wants to car-pool from Ankeny might want to meet at
5:20 p.m. at the Ankeny Dahl's parking lot--and then drive north on Highway 69.
Directions: Take Highway 69 to Highway 210--210 through Slater to Madrid. At the stop sign (Casey's on left and Tiger Bowl on right), turn left (south) and go through the stop light
and turn right (west) onto West Second Street (Git 'n Go on the left and Bank of the West
on the right). Address is 213 West Second Street. Phone number 515.795.3855.
Mapquest gives directions from the south side of Ankeny, via 415 through Polk City. Some
may prefer to go that way...
